Hi again, Malcolm, I'm not sure how easy it will be for her to find a job at a hotel, but in general, Western expats are in high demand. Generally speaking as well, salary will be negotiable; I've found that there is a sliding scale - one for the locals, one for the expats (and there is a BIG difference between the two!)

For language, there are a few places, but I've heard great things about the Arabic language program offered by the French Embassy in Amman. When you get here, be sure to give them a call. :)
