Hello,
First, please accept my apologies for not responding to you sooner. I usually get an email every time someone posts here, but either I didn't get the email or it got buried in my inbox! :)
Your question about what to expect is very broad, but I guess, in a nutshell, expect it to be completely different from life in Canada. In some ways, the differences will be good... in other ways, the differences might drive you mad. Feel free to send me a private message if you would like me to elaborate more about specific differences that you are interested in knowing about.
As for things to do, touristic activities here are excellent - one of the best things the country has to offer. Try this website for more specifics: http://www.visitjordan.com/
As for everything else, there is an active nightlife here and plenty of things to do. Intellectual, though? You would also need to elaborate further on that (i.e.: what specifically are your interests?)

Hello,
First off, for the university, Jordan University is the best. Perhaps you can apply for admission there to get you started.
As for the idea that women in Jordan who work are in need, that is simply not true.
First off, Jordan has a very progressive society. Any family who can possibly afford higher education for their children - females are no exception - will do whatever it takes to make sure that their children are educated.
Further, the workforce is full of women - from all different economic backgrounds - pursuing careers post education. In fact, more to the point, women from poorer families are LESS LIKELY to be working than women from affluent families.

Hi there … I’m pharmacist , with me work many females , pharm is good filed for women workers here (better than nursing or even doctors because they work long time , it could b at night too , witch Jordanian husbands don’t like). Here in Jordan, pharm is high income ,and social safety , and prestige , still Jordan pharm-market need many high professional workers ..
