For many newcomers and those considering living in Jordan, access to quality medical care is a top priority. Please help those moving to your area by posting your experiences with the local health care system. Also, include any information about health insurance in Jordan. Be sure to post the name of your city, region or town.

Hi,
I am Anas, a local from Amman.
I think it may be better to be healthcare-insured before coming to Jordan and your insurance covers you in Jordan, because local insurance companies here aren't the people who would not let you down.
Hospitals, the private sector people are doing there homework very well, because the public sector isn't doing much in this area, so it is an open market.
meaning is that you'd find very good healthcare here in Jordan, but very very! pricy!
you either get your own insurance, accept the local insurance that could be sometimes very tricky and frustrating - or -
eat well, drink good, exercise and you won't need both ;)

Godspeed!
Anas
