Hi. I have recently arrived in Atyrau. I am the gorgeous state of Alaska. I love outdoors activities (biking, skate skiing, hiking), which don't look like an option in Atyrau. I've ran outside a couple of times here, but the air seems so unclean, that I've reserted to the fitness club. Are there places nearby (besides Almaty) to enjoy outdoors? Say, a week-end trip?

Also, what about cultural life? Something beyond bars. :) Theaters, exhibitions, museums? Went to one of the two museums in Atyrau - it was pretty pathetic...

Besides going to fitness club, what are other healthy things to do in Atyrau (and its vicinity)? Any decent places for dancing where people don't get drunk?
