" Hello from Sunny Eastbourne, England. Both my wife and myself are moving down to Kenya in a months time. I shall be taking up the job of managing a large Resort Hotel on the beach , North of Mombasa. Is there anyone out there who is working in Kenya or has worked there as we would like to get some insight into lifestyle, things to do or not to do, any tips for expats? Yes we have read up about the country in various guide books and travel journals etc, plus surfing the web sites in Kenya, however have not managed to speak to anyone who is ther or was there. Appreciate if someone could touch base with me Thanks Chris "

" Dear Mr. Warren I am an expatriate Indian in Kenya workign as Director of a Medium Heavy Engineering Company and have been here since 1995. Kenya is one of the most wonderful place to be in provided you cater to precaution of keeping to freinds and not move around late. This tip helps you to keep yourself here permanantly. Risk factor is in every country only thing it is not exaggerated. I read your request and though am not a kenyan but a resident of Kenya Welcome you here. You are joining the Service Industry and will find very interesting people which I do not doubt or have to tell you. The people in Nairobi or in Mombasa are very good and depending on your work you would find a good crowd to mix with. I am an Engineer and our company is actively engaged in doing projects in Mombasa and I frequently travel there though I live in Nairobi. In case you need to touch base with me, you can either send me an email or fax. Email : Rel@Form-Net.com Fax : 254 2 445768 Hope we can touch base and look foward seeing you and your wife in Kenya. Hello Sheila, In researching a move from Miami to Kenya, I came across your message. I have been to Kenya several times, and after 15 years in the corporate world, need a radical change and Kenya was so magical on each of my trips, both in Nairobi and outside (Samburu, Nanyuki, Mombasa, Diani Beach, the Mara of course, Abedares etc) that I have been thinking about it ever since! I speak 5 languages (French, Spanish, German and Portuguese) so I would hope that these might come in handy...I am a quick study in languages and know that I would pick up Swahili quite easily - in fact I did learn quite a lot during my visits in Kenya (though since forgotten). Any info at all would be most appreciated. I am very keen on wildlife organizations and / or tourism-related businesses. Many thanks in advance for your reply! Sunny greetings from Miami, Petra.

Iam a Kenyan and would like to help you. What you read from webs is true. Living in Kenya is one of the exiting thing of your life because it is a very good country. I would like to warn you about chosing friends who you will have in Kenya and at the same time letting strangers know you too much. If you get a safe home to live and with enough security you will live in Kenya happily. Wishing you a nice stay and if you would like to know more or any help contact Mrs.Edith Munubbe of Box 68130, Nairobi, Kenya. Tel.254-722 255311. e-mail- enjwm@yahoo.com

Dear Chris, I am sending you a note and reply honestly I have worked in the Motel/Hotel industry. I currently live in Texas. My fiancee whom lives in Nairobi is working and living there. I have not seen her in two years. I can ask her if it would be alright to tell you the situations in Kenya, travel, people, customs, and safety. I am trying hard to get to her however in my financial status as of to date almost impossible to go there. They told me it's diffucult to find work in Nairobi especially being American. Could you possibly employ me when you get situated. Thank-You and hope to hear from you, Sincerely James Harris
