" Hello there- I am writing because my husband and I plan on moving to Kenya in Nov 2000. I lived there for three years on a wildlife ranch south east of Nairobi. I loved living there and have wanted to return almost everyday since I left. We are currently living in Washington, DC. I am hoping to find wildlife related work (African Wildlife Foundation, WWF, IUCN and so on) and my husband''s field is computer networking. We are planning on living in a suburb of Nairobi, Karen or Langatta most likely, and are hoping to try and make some contacts and line things up as much as possible before we go. We have the time to plan our move considering we are not leaving for another 8 months, but really need help finding work opporntunities. If you can help us at all it would be very appreciated. Thank you, Carter Ong "

" Hello Carter, I know this may seem obvious, but have you looked at governmental agencies of Kenya and the USA? Talk to the consulates and embassies in Kenya, while talking to the UN or other international gov''t agencies. You may get some decent results. Best wishes! A.D. "

" Hi Carter, I am happy to hear that you have been bitten by the ""Hakuna Matata"" bug, Kenya is indeed a beautiful country and full of warm hearted and welcoming people. I may be able to recommend a few things since you still have plenty of time before your return to paradise. I am a student in the US and im about to complete my studies here. As you may have guessed Yes I am Kenyan. Having grown up there , i miss it terribly and cannot wait to get back home. Yes i love living in the US but i can relate to your need for some guidance on living in a foreign land. I realy struggled when i first got here and my only wish is that someone would have helped me settle down here. But i managed somehow and now i am willing to help you settle in Kenya whatever way i can. There is a diverse and vibrant expatriate community in Kenya and im sure your return there will be even better than the first time round , So please get in touch with me at patmuchi@yahoo.com and i will respond to whatever questions or queries you may have. Do take care now in the land of simba !! Patrick. "

Hello Carter, I just found this website and am wondering how you made out. Are you already in Kenya? I too want to move to Kenya and get involved in wildlife organizations. After 15 years as a corporate executive, have decided that there is more to life and 3 extended visits to Kenya over the last years have left me itching to go back for a lot more. I would be very interested to hear what you found and would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me. I am planning on going to Nairobi in APril for 4-6 weeks for an initial look and to make contacts... Thanks in advance for your reply! Sunny greetings from Miami, Petra.
