hi just got back from nairobi 12 weeks ago we spent 7 months there.
I dont know of any schools in that area but plenty within nbi.
most people we know live in nbi and work away from home as the infrastruction is non existant in outer areas.
have u sorted out your visas and wages not as easy as you think.
also how are you sending your household goods by container forget it.
you are better of buying it all there for a full house full and i mean everything from cups to beds fridges it is a quater of the price we paid out about 2500 puonds tops for every thing.
Where are you going to live as houses and apartments are not cheap and you always get ripped of as you always need to pay at least 1000 euro upfront that is the lowest we payed and you will not get it back.wot ever you do good luck and enjoy it is a cool place but just watch yourselves if you need any more info give me a mail mark

hi, thanks for the info, not gone into that much detail yet about
moving.I'm trying to work out if it is a possibility first,if I can't find some kind of social network for the children then we will have to turn the job down and look else where.

Hey Evellene,
Have information to your questions. Do not turn down this offer.
In Nanyuki there are very nice houses where you can live and a very wonderful place to be. Going between U$275-U$350, unfortunately no good schools around that area but very good schools in Nairobi and other areas. From Nairobi to Nanyuki is about 130km.
My advice is, you can live in Nairobi with the kids going to school and every weekend you visit your husband.(that is one way). The other one is you put your children in a boarding school and that is what most of parents do in Kenya.
Do not feer come and your children will have the best of education and you will be happy with our country.
If you need any help or more information count on me.
You can also visit my website:http://www.nabuur.com/modules/villages_issues/index.php?villageid=198. and maybe while in Kenya you can be able to volunteer with us or contact me on email des_teencenter@yahoo.com. Edith

If you are based in Nanyuki there is a small local expat and european kenyan community. I would think that you are going to be based at the lodge that your husband has had the job offer from, therefore the only options for schooling will be boarding. two schools that are very good with international staff are ST ANDREWS, TURI or PEMBROKE COLLEGE, GILGIL. I should think that they both have websites. Or in Nairobi there is the French school and also the ISK international school of Kenya.

Wish you luck Nanyuki is set in one of Kenya's most beautiful landscapes.
