Dear Waitherero,
nice to meet you and thanks for your help.
For the kind of person I am I would prefer to live in a middle income housing, furnished and not posh at all!! And for sure I would prefer to share the flat with some roommates, since I would feel more safe and less lonely!
I've been told housing in Nairobi is expensive, that's why I put such an amount per month, but actually if I could pay less (between 300 and 400) it would be much better!
Thanks again for your replay and if you can help me out would be of relief for me! what is your job by the way?

Silvia

Hi silivia , most furnished apartment you will find in the upmarket only. As you said shared accomodation is cheaper. Infact most of my guests go for that. I have contact with two (three bedroom shared accomodation )one in milimani and the other in Hurlingham. For shared accomodation you pay 500USD (the dollar is doing so poorly in kenya)1USD= 61kshs.

At the moment the apartment in milimani is full till June, let me know if you will be interested with the one in hurlingham

What is included: One bedroom furnished with inbuilt closet for yourself, you share other amenities i.e. kitchen, lounge, dining, bathroom.
Security: is offered 24/7
Payment: on arrival

Please advise how long you want the housing and when, then we can agree on terms.

About myself: I work as a training cordinator and partime I offer expatriate advise by get settled in Kenya . Steer you to good restaurants (and arrange reservations, if necessary). Arrange homestays( I offer homestay in my home) shared accomodation, backpackers rooms, hotel rooms or executive apartment rentals .
Looking forward to get you housing that suits you.

Regards
waitherero

Jambo all! I'm moving to Kenya early next year and want to rent a cottage, guest house, or other such place in Karen for a maximum of $1300.00US - and I need it furnished. Security is a big consideration of course. I'll be consulting for the UN and USAID so the "commute" to downtown isn't a consideration as I'll be working from home 99% of the time. Internet, SAT TV, etc. are necessities. If anyone can tell me who I should contact to find a property...please let me know. Email me at imakespots@aol.com

Hi Waitherero,

thanks for your email. I could be interested in the accomodation in Hurligham-it seems to be quite close to the city centre! I will be in Nairobi since the 17th of january, I think we should meet up and go and have a look onto the accomodation. Please, write me your private email and we can arrange the meeting.
Also, if you have anything that costs less please let me know!
I wait for your reply,
thanks a lot!
Silvia

Dear Sylvia. How are you? Please advise how long you will need the shared accomodation. What nationality are you? My email is chegewaithes@gmail.com. If you want something cheaper than 500USD , then go for a homestay accomodation. I can link you up with a few homes.

Regards
Waitherero
