We will move to Seoul next week. Our American hosts warn us to bring mattress toppers because local mattresses are unusually hard. Any advice? Where can we buy mattress toppers -- or softer mattresses -- in Seoul? Or must we ship them from the U.S.?

It depends on the mattress size. The size of US Beds is different than Korean beds. If they are Korean beds then you will be able to them locally. I am assuming they are Korean beds because you mention that they are hard. Doesn't really matter how many toppers you place on the bed.. its still going to be hard. I would search for a US Style Mattress once you get to Seoul.

We are moving to Jeju at the end of the month. I heard the same thing and I have a bad back. I shopped in stores and online for months for a topper. Unfortunately the mattress sizes are different than US sizes. Google mattress sizes and you'll see. We finally resorted to buying a "bed in a box" from Costco. You can of course get one that sort of fits but then you have problems with sheets. Good luck!
