I came across this company from a friend who taught English for a year in South Korea. She needed a cell phone as soon as she got there and got one through them.

I went to teach english a year and a half ago and did the same thing as her. It was awesome. Just warning, they are a little more expensive, but it's worth getting a phone as soon as you land and their contracts are only 6 months and than month-to-month afterwards.

Check it out: http://www.thearrivalstore.com/

I hope it helps some of you out there who need a cell phone for a relatively short period of time.

They also do other stuff like Western bedding and kitchen stuff, things that were surprisingly hard to find in korea.

Cheers,
Corey

What a coincidence: we today moved in to our new apartment in Seoul, and just now received delivery of our two boxes of bedding and linens from The Arrival Store, just as promised! Yes, you can prowl around myriad discount stores and probably find lower prices -- but at what cost of time and energy? This is super convenient, and what good service!
