Hi:
I am going to move to Kuwait next Spring, would like to know how to find a professional employment over there. Should I start with the newspaper? Or is there a recruiting firm that I can use? What is the best way to find a job? I am a US citizen. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why you are re-locating (marriage, etc.) but you can check this website (www.csakuwait.com) where jobs are listed at the Doha Camp (American Army camp) - or you can call the embassy once you get here to see about job openings in the Embassy itself.
One thing I'd like to tell you is that no matter what you hear - the Embassy is NOT helpful in assisting, nor do they have an area that assists you in finding local employment. When you call their HR dept, that is only for the embassy.
What type of job are you looking for?

I'm looking for a job in Kuwait. My background is business and i have an MBA from the US. I'm not Kuwaiti and I'm currently in the US. Does anybody know of head hunters in Kuwait or London that could help me find a job there? What type of salary should I be looking for working at the managerial level? Thanks for your help!

Hi there,
Just wondering if you have arrived in Kuwait and were able to find a job. I would like to come to Kuwait and work in the IT industry for a few years as I heard that the money is good. I am presently residing in Toronto, Canada and I have 5 years of Canadian IT experience. Let me know if you could offer any help or suggestions on how to find an IT job in Kuwait. Thanks in advance Glen p.s. you can email me at glen0572@yahoo.com

Dear Glen
Kuwait money is good for Kuwait only. If you think you will come here and save some, think twice. You need a big contract with a big company and this is not easy to find. if company doesnt pay for your housing and other stuff, no money will be saved

Dear Glen and Knight I have been working in Kuwait for a small private business for about four months. The owners are wealthy Kuwaitis who bought--or were sold--a franchise probably thinking it was easy money. I have been having conflicts with the "all knowing" owners who have never held a real job or had to work in their life. Also, I and the owners have had trouble obtaining my work permit. And, I have been having trouble collecting my full salary. I have a lengthy contract that has "everything" in writing, it was "checked out" by an attorney, a cpa, and a professor of business management before I left the States. Like Knight said, I came here for the money, I have everything in writing, but so far it seems to mean little. I have recived one lame excuse after another from my employers, and the hours are brutal. Maybe large corporations are different, but beware of the little guy. If the job market would have been better in the States, I would have never left.
