I have been offered a Job with an American firm in Kuwait City. My wife and I will be bringing 3 dogs (miniature dachshunds and 1 cat with us. Does anyone know the general gist of finding rental housing that allows pets.

Hello,
I'm in the process of moving from Dubai to Kuwait and wish to bring my cat with me. The cat has all of her shots, but I have heard that I need a letter of permission from one of the Ministries to bring her in. Is this true?
Also did you bring your pets through the airport? If affirmative, did you have any problems at the airport clearing them through customs, and even locating them at the airport after landing?
Thanks,

Greetings,
I am an American living in Dubai and will soon be moving to Kuwait for a new position.
I intend to bring with me a pet cat who I rescued from the streets of Dubai and is now a member of the family. The purpose of this email is to inquire as to whether I will have any problems bringing her through Kuwait customs. She has all of her shots, but I have heard that I need to obtain a letter of permission from one of the Ministries.
Do you have any experience with this? If affirmative, can you please share them with me
Thanks,

You are correct in that you need documentation from the ministry - this is in the form of an Import Permit available from the Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (Animcal Health Department). Tel 00965 4730867 - ask them to Fax you one I would suggest - THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE SOLUTION AS THEY DO NOT ALL SPEAK ENGLISH. The document is not always checked but this is the corrrect way forward. You also need an export permit from Dubai - available at Cargo Village. Although you could arrive in Kuwait and get the permit (it i valid for a month) and then bring the animal in - it is MUCH easier to travel with your animal to Kuwait. I am checking alternative ways other than the above for you to get hold of the Import document (i.e if the vets etc will get one for you.) Please ask if you have any other queries.
