My family and I will be relocating to Kuwait in a few weeks and want to get to know the area a little before our arrival. Would anyone be able to share some information regarding where there are some larger Western expat communities?

What are some good things to know about Kuwait City before our arrival? IS there anything we should do in advance of our arrival?

Love to catch up with anyone who lives there to get some info..

I am a Yank in Kuwait going on 7 years. I have some Kuwait related info on my personal webpage at www.texastexas.com. That means school which will open doors to social activity with other families. Churches are here also and they can be a good source of contacts. The key to enjoying Kuwait is to find balance between work and social life. There are lots of expats here from all over the world and despite the lack of natural beauty it is a very good life here. Me and my family are getting ready to do the same thing. My husband will be going over ahead of us. What ages are your children? I have two boys 7 and 10. Does your employer supply housing and auto?

I know that I might not have information for you of Kuwait but it is a comfort to know there are others in the same situation that we are. Going in blind.

Hi Kylemom,
I am in the same boat as you are. I am packing to move to Kuwait from the United Kingdom next month with my 8 & 13 year old sons. My husband has been in Kuwait for over a year now and I have just decided to up sticks and make the major move because the separation was not ideal for our family life.
