Depends on where u live in Kuwait. Some of the local malls are full of westerns in modern dress. Shorts, tank tops, etc...U'll get the occassional stare but nothing dramatic. Usually no1 will tell u anything. Also, the beaches are also very open but u'll feel more at home around Marina Mall beachside or around the Hilton close to Fahaheel. Usually a lot of Americans, Brits & Australians there. There u'll see the occasional bikini. Hope u enjoy ur stay here!

Hi! I will be moving to Kuwait at the end of June. It all depends on various situations. If your wife will be working, then she should follow the dress code set by her employer. However, as far as I have heard, there are several things she might consider:
1. open shoulders tops are not very acceptable, as well as mini skirts.
2. you might grab few sweaters with you, believe it or not, it gets gold in Kuwait during winter
3. few light jackets will do as well
4. short tops that reveal belly button also might be somewhat unacceptalbe (but depends where you going) and see through blouses thought which you can obviously see a bra -- no, no, no as well.
5. low cut jeans that reveal hips -- same as #4
6. The bottom line -- nothing too shoking or revealing that might attract too much attention -- use common sence.
