I may be getting a position teaching English at a school in Kuwait. I just wanted to ask how much money would I need to make-yearly salary in U.S. dollars-to live decent? Or simply put how much would one need to make to get by in Kuwait?
Also I'm looking for work for my wife in the area of Human Resources, but I can't find any website that advertises in positions in Kuwait. Does anyone have any leads?

Try the itt.com website under careers. They have a Middle East Office located in Kuwait. Have her post her resume and apply for any openings there. Good Luck.

Local mag called Gulf Business released some Economist numbers on costs in Gulf countries in their March 2006 edition. If you can't get this online, the big ticket items are 1620 to 3103 for a 3 bed apartment, 10500 to 15517 for an entry level car (in USD). Other indicators are 3 to 4 dollars for fast food burger meal and $6 for a seat at a cinema. Hope this helps.
