I would hold out on the beach club until you have been here for a bit. I know some companies offer deals, but honestly unless you are off a lot and can use their services, it's a spendy deal. A good place to go and feel relaxed is the Messilah Beach Club at the end of the 6th ring, it is only 500 fils per person entry, they have tables and chairs available and if your timing is right you can get a spot next to a BBQ grill and have a good picnic. They have volleyball nets set up, and from what I have found in going there everyone is super friendly and the place stays pretty clean (Kuwait standards of clean of course). Also, if you are into windsurfing/kiteboarding, there is a group of expats and locals that hang out at the McDonalds beach on Gulf road when the wind is right. The beach is ok, but the people kite there are all good to talk to and willing to give pointers on newbies such as myself. Enjoy and living over here is all on what you make of it, the biggest thing I miss is happy hour at a pub, but you get used to not having that. --CHEERS
