Sports in Kuwait

Hi all,

I am moving to Kuwait in May / June and am wondering what sports there are to do in Kuwait?

I've read there is some diving, cricket, rugby - but I don't really play those sports so much.

in particular I wondered if people could comment on the following sports:

- football (11 a side & 5 a side)
- tennis
- badminton
- squash

Any links to clubs, websites, or general information would be great.

I play all of the above fairly regularly in the UK and looking to carry on playing when I move to Kuwait. I'm particularly keen to join a football team. I've heard of the 'Accies' on other forums but not seen any websites or been able to get in touch with anyone.

I am hoping playing these sports is a good way to meet like minded people.

Cheers
Andrew

Mr. Finn? at British School of Kuwait is the POC for football - he knows the groups
There is a Philopino run Badmitaon league - anyone can join - read the Arab Times, google it
Squash, you'd have to join the health clubs, Cornishe, Crown Plaza, etc
Tennis, likewise...
Google

Thanks for the reply. I actually tried emailing Mike but no luck with a response as of yet.

The badminton sounds good.

As an after thought, I know that in Dubai there is a lot of quad biking etc - is this possible in Kuwait? If so, any details?

Thanks

Understand that for the summer months it's basically unbearable to do anything outdoors - or to get others to join you out there lol Jetski might be more viable ..

Most suffer from finding a sport club as there are not as many expats here as in Dubai.

I joined Kickboxing at our local gym - easiest option considering the traffic conjestion just after work as the gym is in walking distance.
I was looking at kite surfing and sea kyaking recently ... will see how things go as it's a logistic and weather issue ...

Good Luck ..
