I am getting ready to go over to Kuwait and I have had some people tell me they will go through your laptop and other items at customs checking for contraband. Is this true? What shouldn't I have on my laptop or electronic devices?

Hi,

I live and work here as an expat and go in and out all the time on work and on vacation. I have only had them go through my luggage once. I had a bottle of olive oil that looked like a wine bottle and it came up on the x-ray. they even opened the bottle to taste it. Kind of funny really.

As to the going through your laptop? Never heard of it and never seen it happening. I carry my laptop all the time, an iPad, a Playbook and more electronics than you can shake a stick at. Don't sweat it.

P.S. What's illegal wherever you are is illegal here.
