Hello I am trying to get information
My spouse is a US contractor who has been in kuwait working since December 2013 he just got married on Wednesday to the woman I am wondering is this legal? What are my options he is stating he married her so she wouldn't be deported because she claimed she was pregnant.

You just got screwed.

No. It's not legal. Even if your husband is a Muslim, he is breaking US law, and his marriage will not be recognized by the US Embassy unless he produces divorce documents showing the dissolution of your marriage.

My suggestion is that you contact his company, and the US Embassy in Kuwait, and immediately inform them of what he has done.

I'm sure he's saying that, if she is pregnant, the HE didn't do it.

It's a common ploy for some Filipino women here, in order to get a green card, to intentionally get pregnant. And, if he married her, it's because he's guilty about it.

The Kuwaitis would not deport her because she's pregnant... they would, however, deport her after the child was born out of wedlock.

My question to him would be 'Why is it so important to you for her NOT to get deported from Kuwait that you would lie to your wife, and marry another woman?'

I think you have to face the facts: he's cheating on you, probably got someone pregnant, and likely had to convert to Islam in order to get married, because he doesn't have a divorce from you, that's the only way he could get married without having to provide proof that he was unmarried (which the US Embassy will NOT provide).

You're absolutely right, this is what he had to do to get married there, in the marriage contract (he thinks) it says he's muslim that's why he dint need the CNI certificate sayings he isn't married. He is not denying that he possible has her pregnant though. It is all very crazy I contacted his company, they are now investigating him about his clearance, but the VP of his company who I here in our town has scheduled a lunch with him to "work through the questions the security people are asking" so I don't see them firing him unless he doesn't have a clearance, which is determined by the security clearance folks not his company. I would like him to divorce her so this marriage of his will not affect our children financially if she tried to take him for what little he has. If she is pregnant that's a whole 'not her issue he will be dealing with. I'm so shocked and appalled I really don't know what to do I really just want the mess with her taken care of before I decide to leave him.

He "thinks" the marriage contract says he's a Muslim? He is lying through his teeth to you.

First, he had to attend at least one class, and learn how to pray and how to say the Surra.

Then, he had to go in front of a judge at the Ministry of Justice and, in Arabic, proclaim his faith.

Only after that could he have initiated a Muslim marriage contract to marry the Filippina.

Believe me... the process is far too complicated and involved for him not to know exactly what he is doing.

What company does he work for in Kuwait?

From the texts the Phillipino woman sent to him a she had the contract "release i marriage contract" drawn up by her lawyer, there was a rush to do it "wednesday!!" Because that's when the woman she knows would be there to take care of it for her. She was very adamant because she had already had the judge and lawyer ready to have the marriage started. I have contacted the embassy stating marriage fraud and they have replied asking for my husband and her birthdays so we will see how that goes. He has asking meeting with the VP of his company today to "go over the questions the security people are asking us" so his company looks like they are trying to do something to keep his clearance.

You should start divorce proceedings immediately.

Im planning to go to Kuwait very soon to assist him "get a divorce from her" I want to make sure that this is taken care of so she will get nothing once I start my divorce here in the states. At this point I don't care if he goes to jail or loses his job, as this will be the result of his poor choices, but I would like to protect what we (myself and children) have from her as soon as possible.

Well, you can't 'force' him to get a divorce. In Kuwait, it's his decision.

And, if he thinks or knows you're going to divorce him anyway, then why would he divorce the Filipino?

It seems to me if you are going to divorce him, you wouldn't care what he does. Making him divorce the Filipino won't change anything... he can turn around, and immediately re-marry her.

I'm not forcing him to do anything. He made the decision to marry her and now wants to divorce her after realizing how insane it was, possibly losing his job and security clearance, family .things he was obviously not thinking about before it all hit the fan. I told him I would help him, which is in my interest anyway, so I will. He will be back in the US once his contract runs out in a few months so staying married to her when he won't be there or with her doesn't make sense either.

I'm Loree from and I am giving vote of thanks to this lady priestess who used her spell cast to bring my wife back home. she left because I cheated and I am so damn sorry but she didn't stay. Much effort to ask for forgiveness made her cry the more and never wanted to come back. I met this spell lady on this website thespellpriestessmunak.webs.com, and email priestessmunak@ gmail.com, this lady changed the story and bring happiness to our family. I am pleased to tell you that it worked great and I am now back with my wife and everything is okay. And I promise not to do sily mistakes again. Thanks so much once again and will definitely order again in the future. Be blessed and keep up with the Good work.

The marriage might not be legal in America but it is legal here. He married her because unmarried women can't deliver here and they would ask who the father is. In that event they can both be imprisoned. I've seen many unwed mothers in jail in Kuwait with their babies. If the mother gives up the name then the father can also spend time in jail as the baby was conceived out of wedlock. Sounds like there's more to his story. Check it out before you start putting all the blame on the woman. I've seen many, many married US contractors that come here to work and end up being in relationships with locals and foreign women.

The US embassy does not recognize marriages done in Kuwait unless you register them with the embassy. That's how many of them get away with it. They usually divorce the woman before they return home. But if she really is pregnant, he won't be able to divorce her. It's not allowed to divorce a pregnant woman in Kuwait. He must wait till the baby is born and then he can ask for a paternity test.

Sorry, good luck! He needs to get a good lawyer to get out of this one!

I was a DA civilian in Kuwait for one year in Kuwait and was in shock when I saw what was going on between American men and the Filipinos. I am not speaking for every American male in Kuwait, but many are there for the main reason of being with Filipino women. Many call it the Ugly Mans Paradise because it doesn't matter how old you are or how you look. I know one guy who was there for 9 years in his early 60s. He was relocated back to the U.S. to work where his wife, children, and grandchildren lived. When he left one would've thought he was returning to a funeral. I think these men get over there with good intentions and lose their minds when they realize how many Filipino women they can be with. It's like candy on Halloween. Don't even have to say trick or treat or even go to the door. Everyone iced there knows what is going on and don't really seem to care.

I have found myself in the same situation with my cheating husband. Except he flew her out to Ethiopa and married her. They had a Sharia wedding. Does that mean that he has converted to Islam? And is there anyway that these two can get into trouble for, for getting married after she was pregnant? For fornicating before the marriage? What are my rights as his wife in Kuwait?
