Leaving the USA

I am working towards getting as many computer certifications as possible so I can permanently move out of the USA.
It is no longer a good life here for many reasons. The culture is more and more disgusting and the most skilled people have a hard time finding good paying jobs. Computer certifications are almost worthless because so many people have them. Problem is that I need a job with a company in the USA I can transfer overseas. I am willing to consider any country where can find a good job.

Daniel, have you found anything in Vientiane?

I am equally in the IT field and would like to find work there.

Daniel,

I totally understand where your coming from. I too are in the IT field and planning on moving to Laos and take an really early retirement there. As far as job goes, there are some, but the pay will be base on local income, which isn't good at all. An average pay there is between 200-300USD/month. That being said, I don't plan on working in Laos, perhaps some volunteer work here and there, as I plan on living of my savings. It is also a good idea to have a small business which does not cost alot to start up and one can make a decent living of it, probably way better than working. Laos is solely base on who you know rathern than what you know. I have been visiting Laos every other year since the late 90s and I love it there, it is much less hectic. In term of long term stay, you may want to look into business visa, again anything can be consider business, let it be a pair of shoes hanging on a string in front of your resident. It is a cheapest of all options. I also hear through a friend that dual visa is in disccussion and will be available soon.

Good luck with your endeavor..

SC
