No there is not. The only possible suggestion would be that you get a work permit and visa in Laos. This is possible, but would cost you a bit for a "fixer".
You do realise, I suppose, that you can extend your 30 day visa.

Hi there, I'm a Lao citizen who currently live in US. My husband is a US citizen, and planning to move to Laos in a couple year. That's why we have looked for some information on internet and by asking cousins and friends. We believe the only long term visa that you don't have to extend it every 30 days is business visa. It's required to extend every year by your sponsor. You need to have a company or job that will be your sponsor. Basicly you need to have a job there, which I don't think it's hard if you have a degree and experiences, you can be a teacher or work with an international organization. I hope it can be helpfull to you. Good luck and let me know if you think I can answer and give you more advices. Keep in touch, Bluesea
