Look, for example, at www.jclao.com Rents start at about 350 dollars and can be as high as 3000 dollars. Depends what you are looking for. Mind you Laos is very hot so if you don't like hot weather, don't do it. Other than that it's a great place to be for a while. Everything is easy going, so don't expect any quick fixes.

You can get houses starting from $250 if you look around. Rents have risen and you can thank the ngos for that

thanks very much for all your comments, when you say $250 do you mean a month, weekly? and what do i expect to get for this as in house size, rooms, toilet, bathroom, electric, water you know all the normal stuff. hot weather not a problem just got back from thailand to adelaide(australia) and it was bloody cold so the weather in south-east asia is very appealing. thanks pete and petra.

250 pm. A colleague just rented a 2 bedroom house with a garden for that. Furnished, kitchen, electric hw and cable TVMind you, these are getting VERY hard to find. Rents have skyrocketed in the 5 yrs I have been here. 300+ is the norm now.
