Hi all, I'm new to Laos and finding it hard to meet other expats. Originally from New Zealand, husbands away working while I'm at home with a 2yr girl. How do you go about building a social network? I'm worried I'm going to get home sick and not give Lao a real chance.

Try the Oz embassy for info. They have a club.
Where does your husband work ??
Does he have expat workmates with family in Vientiane ??

Check out the windows of the expat food marts or put an ad in the window yourself.

Look in the Vientiane Times newspaper.

Ask around some of the better expat type shops.
