Shipping An old car FROM Laos.

Does anyone have information on how one would go about shipping an old non running car from Vientiane to the U.S? Or what it might cost to do so?

I have no idea of exact costs but there would be government charges and a heap of paperwork and payments needed before you can even consider shipping. You would have to have ownership papers for the vehicle. Shipping will be costly as you would have to containerize the vehicle to take it by road through Laos, across Vietnam to a shipping port or the same through Thailand.

To ship a 20ft container from Vietnam to USA is approx $3500. Add to that the land transport costs plus govt charges I would be looking at whether the car is worth all that.
