Latvia is a country I''ve yet to tour and I''ve toured nearly all of them in Europe. I''ve heard that Kuldiga is one of the prettiest there. Does anyone who lives there have any opinions on enjoying the country?

Hi there!
I had been wanting to visit Latvia but couldn't seem to feel my self welcome for it. For one, there is no Embassy here in Manila, Philippines, only an Honorary Consulate that couldn't help me much either. They keep on insisting that I get a personal invitation letter from someone. How could I? I don't know no one from there. I just want to visit the country together with Lithuania. I am of Chinese descent, borned in the Philippines. I had been to Europe three times, each time on each different sector. i had reached Estonia,though. I got my Tourist Visa from the States while I was there. This one was not really on purpose though ,just that the Embassy was in Washington, and I was quite near and got lucky somehow to have a tourist visa issued.
Pls help me how u were able to procure information or tarvelling requirements?Secondly,I tried writing some travel agencies but none responded. can u believe that?
Thirdly, the travel agencies here in manila couldnt provide me with much info either. latvia isnt really that popular for Asians here, I guess.
I'd love to hear the nice places and experiences u had there as well.

Hallo ms. eulalia chan! I am a latvian girl who lives in Egypt, Cairo. My husband is Egyptian and he also had great problems of getting out to me before we married. He didn't succeeded to come to Latvia because he had the same problem - no Lavian Embassy in Egypt :((( What I can suggest if you really want to get to Latvia - try to get the list of Latvian Embassies abroad and contact the closest country's Embassy of Latvia for their suggestions. They either should provide you with procedures or at least inform you how you can get there/get visa, etc. Regards, Helena
