How concerned about the Swine Flu are people in Lithuania? Are you and/or your family members planning to get the H1N1 vaccine or have you already received it? Is it readily available? Not yet available? We would appreciate your input about the current situation in Lithuania.

Lithuania failed to order vaccine in time so there are no swine flu specific vaccinations available at the moment. The shipment will not arrive until May, unless another country sells part of its supply (like Sweden). Treatment is available for people sick with the flu but only for 13 per cent of the population.

So far there is no epidemic here and only a few have been or are sick here. There have been fewer than 100 cases and so each suspected case is verified. After 100 cases, then treatment will be applied automatically without checking.

On the other hand, few are very concerned about the flu here. We probably think it will be no worse than other years and the epidemic is just paranoia.
