Hi,
Do you have a university selected and been admitted there? This would be the first step as they will help you arrange to study here. Googling universitetas and the city should give you a selection. Some universities are known as akademija. For a non-university higher education, then look for a kolegija.

Hello Uaorkun - Moving to Lithuania is probably a bad idea. Turkey is not an EU country, and the laws here and policies will be against you. If you have dark skin, you will be discriminated against. Lithuania has the highest levels of suicide, alchoholism, and road deaths. Lithuanians are leaving Lithuanian faster than they are being born. A degree from a Lithuanian University is a hindrance, and is not respected in many countries. My advice is to look somewhere else because Lithuania is neither friendly or tolerant of other cultures. Only a fool or a desperate person would try to come here to live or study.

You have never been in Lithuania, but you say that you want to live in it. Why are you so sure that you will like Lithuania? If you need more information about Lithuania check this website http://www.lithuania-the-best.com

Come on! everything is negative, no wonder people shoot themselves when they receive information like yours. Have you ever lived in Turkey? Do you know of the hardships there? I do.. Believe me, being english x military and very well travelled, speaking 4 languages and having been here and Turkey. Id much rather be here! Of course there is bad things going on, but there are also positive things going on too, so give people the benefit of doubt. If you hate so much! Why are you still here? :-P Matt x

Merhaba Uaorkun,
It can be tough here. 5 months after your message i have arrived. I work here, its very cheap. I have been on weekend trips with the president of chemistry and physics from the university. He has introduced me to mainly Lithuanians who speak quite good english and they go every weekend on adventure weekends. You can go fishing, hiking, mountaineering, outside sauna's, you name it.... These guys writing to you apart from me are mainly people who have lived here a while and they may be native too or they have retired. There is hardship in every country you go to. You are young, eager to learn and at the perfect age for travel. i travelled the world since i was 6 and i have been in far more hostile locations than this. Being British obviously helps, but never the less my friend. I would follow your heart... if you search online like suggested you should come across some interesting information. If not contact me at: Vinylmatt45@hotmail.com and i can put you directly in touch with people your age who can help you

Hey Orkun. I'm from Turkey and living in Vilnius like a year now. I married and came here.I'm working and it's not sooo horrible life! Yes salaries not so high and economy very effected after crisis. Like in every country there are some pluses and minus. For me only shocking thing is weather. But i have never lived racism against me, personally. But yes maybe they are not so friendly. But you should have reason why you want to live here. I think best way you should come and study and see the life yourself and decide. Also, staying here will be hard because of the Turkey is not a EU member. You can mail me about anything: merveselvi@hotmail.com
