I am seeking information from people who have experience in purchasing / registering motorcycle at Madagascar.
Since i have not found almost any information on internet i reallt need some information. What are the requirements for that?

Hello Eenos,
First of all, is it a second hand motorcycle or a new one? If a new one, the vendor should help you to register the motocycle. If second hand, be careful and ask for an invoice. Just to make sure it is not a stolen one. Thereafter, you should fill somes files (sold near the "faritany") with the person you purchase the motocycle. You, then need to register it at any "Firaisana" with your signature. They will stamp the files for legal purpose. Go to the "Faritany" and pay the registering taxes (depending on the cm3 of the motorcycle) and you wait few days. You will have your new "carte grise" on your name. Feel free to ask if you have doubts or questions.

The first plan would be second hand enduro motorcycle 250cc - 450cc..
Since i am coming to Madagascar for only short term on tourist visa is it going to be any more difficult to register second hand motorcycle?

I thought you were already here. Unfortunately, you can't buy a motocycle on a tourist visa. What is your project: are you coming as an explorer (set up a business in short or long term) or a tourist? If you want to stay for future project, you'd better take a transformable visa at madagascar embassy in your country. You can change your visa for a resident permit after (you are not allowed to change a tourist visa in resident permit here).

Yea apologies for not sharing my idea. Well i am coming for solo motorcycle trip around Madagascar within 1 month. Starting from middle of the rainy season on december.
Yes , i will be on tourist visa. I have also checked renting motorcycles yet those intend to be unreasonably expensive.
If there is any way to purchase one would be must better. Yet if not id go for renting one.
Perhaps if you know any places or someone who has collection of enduro off trail bikes would be apprecited to know.

I've just checked information: if you stay for a period of 3 (consecutive) months, there will be no problem for buying a motorcycle. I will help you anyway.
So, if you can afford staying 3 months, it's okay. I will give you more details, depending on your decision. We have to go step by step so you will avoid bad surprises.

I would really love to stay there longer yet i am unable to stay longer than 5-6 weeks at Madagascar.
I have found out for my nationality i an have 3 months tourist visa on arrival.
Is it going to make any difference?
Otherwise yea , i it is legally possible to purchase that would be my first option.
Anyway what does it require to purhase second hand. Do i need actually residential address where the vehicle will be registered to?

I'm not sure it will make any difference. They will need the proof from the place you will stay in, that you have already booked (and paid?) for 3 months stay. I will check this on monday. Requirements: copy of your passport and resident certificate. I will give you necessary informations on monday. It's not a real tough but let's get ready anyway.

Sorry, everything is in french and malagasy here. They understand english a bit, but it's better for you to have friend, otherwise they will make you pay more than you should. You can find moto on facebook. Try to find some on groups like "coin AutoMoto" or Mada bizn. Try lily.mg or e-tady.mg for website. I will also search and tell you when I found. If you do, please let me know before hand; there's a method to get it in proper manner.

I been checking forums and websites you gave and found quite many enduro bikes which i could purchase once i will get know if i am eligible for registering motorcycle.
There must be some way i could do that perhaps different visa than tourist?

Yes, there's some way you can get other visa. That's why I suggest you to take a transformable visa from madagascar embassy in your country.
Good news: you can buy a motorcycle when you arrive here! We will do it as I said; copy of your passport and a residence certificate which we can get once you stay here.
Do not worry anymore; find your bike and come and enjoy!!!

No, this is for those who want to stay for more than 3 months, which is not your case.
You can get the resident certificate from your host. I can do it, no problem. This is just to certify that you have a place to stay.
