" Are you around? Well, I noted your recommendation for the International Women''s Association in one of your posts. I found their number in KL online, but it is out of service. Do you have the number? Sounds interesting! And hey, where IS the Mikasa factory? Here I am trying to get my set shipped here from Canada and it was made here to begin with - duh! Thanks! Jen "

" Hi Jen, Sorry for the delay. I don''t log on here very often. I will check out the Kl number for you, and mail you later. As for Mikasa, the factory is in Kulim Kedah. The ladies groups often arrange trips there, and also to Ipoh for the pottery (decorative plant pots, elephants etc). If I were you, don''t plan on bringing too much over. You will find you will want to buy things here. Especially furniture which can be made to order. Are you coming over here soon? What company is your husband with? If you need any further help, let me know. Rgds, Lynda "

" Actually, I''m already in KL. We''ve been here almost five months. Still settling in, though, as we had temporary living arrangements until last month (with a room-mate - ugh). We just moved into an unfurnished condo in PJ, so we''re slowly buying furnishings, though it is slow going (we only brought our maximum baggage allowance with us). My husband isn''t with any company you''d have heard of, and we don''t have one of those nifty expat packages, so we''re just buying things as we can afford them. Any tips on reasonably priced places to buy furniture, without buying the junk they have at Court''s Mammoth or such stores? I would appreciate that phone number, and any other tips for a newby that you might pass on! :-) Thanks! Jen "

" Hi Jen, Sorry I didn''t get back to you sooner..I have been really busy as it is the moving season. Oh! so you are already in KL..okay..then what I will do is put you in touch with my colleagues at our company H.O. in KL and they will help you with the furniture situation..I am actually in Penang. If you ever plan a trip down here call me 012 473 8192 and we can get together. I do have the number for the American Ladies group (now known as International Ladies) but I left it in my office...I will e-mail it to you tomorrow. I actually spoke with the office there and they were so nice & helpful. I will get Rebecca or Kay (my colleagues) to give you a call and help you out with anything you need in KL. Keep in touch, Kindest regards, Lynda "
