Expat in other parts of Malaysia?

I don't know the exact date I'm moving to Malaysia. I could be in either Ipoh or in Sabah. Just wondering if there're any Expats in other parts of Malaysia. My uncle's business ops are in those 2 cities, so most likely that's where I'll be. I was born in Singapore but moved to the States before I turned 8. I'm 25 now, and the thought of moving back there really scares me. I've been back there a few times over the years, the last time being almost 5 yrs ago. My memory of Malaysia is pretty fuzzy. Hopefully it's not as dreadful as I've made it out to be.

Dreadful? No way. Malaysia is as fun as it can be. Plenty of greenery and outdoor ventures if that is your cup of tea and yet cosmopolitan enough especially if you are in the cities. Kuala Lumpur in certain parts is as modern as any western citites.
There are plenty of expats in either Ipoh or Sabah. Sabah as you know is located in East Malaysia - a plane ride away. If you love the jungle or scuba dive then Sabah is the place. It is less developed than Ipoh (and West Malaysia) but can be great fun for outdoor activties. The people are friendly and English is widely spoken.

Cheers

I have been away from Sabah for 22 yrs and I was back 6 times in the last 7 yrs. I'll probably be back next yeat as well.

KK has changed quite a bit since the last time I left, but not a whole much considered 22 yrs is a long time. I am in HK now. I would like to love to live in Sabah or most parts of Malaysia like the Klang Valley but bcoz KK was where I was born, that's the first choice.

Think of Sabah as the Bahamas or Costa Rica but more developed & spacious. Lots Greens & vegetation. Low pollution index.

Population of the city of KK is only around 300,000, average annual visitors of over 500,000, so one can imagine the popularity from its national park to world reknown TV series 'survival' to world heritage at Spidan diving. Lots to enjoy but the weather is very hot, something I can't get used to yet.

U will get most what u need there. Infrastructure is no problem from IT to road access to any part of Sabah.
