Hi!
I am a Malaysian who has lived in the US for some 20 years, but would like to retire in Malaysia with my husband who is a Swedish national.
We would like to hear about the experiences of anyone who has done the same, in particular, with their experience with regard to taxation of pensions.

Pls note that it is NOT necessary to get a sponsor.

By the way, there is a Swedish community over here. It used to be larger but have got reduced when Ericsson scaled down it's operation.

Good luck!

we are living here and are helping a number of people retire into Malaysia. After buying property - and getting a letter from the taxman - we know of expats who just state that they are "retired" and do not seem to be bothered further.

by the way, we have a website set up to help with enquiries on the Second Home Programme, www.nevispark.com

Thanks. If that's the way to go, we'll follow!! Can't think of many folks who love the taxman.
