Hello,
don´t worry! Malaysia is wonderful and so are the people. Open minded, friendly and helpful. It doesn´t matter what religion you have. We recently moved from KL to the countryside, surrounded by locals of all beliefs, but it works. You should only show your respect to Islam (as for any other religion) and follow the local customs (as anywhere). I wrote some educational ebooks with insicer tips for expats in Malaysia, please visit my profile.
Greetings from Malaysia!

You have to state what you have heard so we could respond appropriately. Otherwise, all we say is that Malaysia is a relatively easy country to live and adapt to because it is multi-ethnic and multi religoius, and is a secular country.

Its funny how the news papers report have so many negative articles about Malaysia.

I guess people are more interested in bad news rather than boring news.

I've been working in the bpo/callcenter industy for 6yrs now in which I have supported US based clients for internet providers. Currently, I'm a Trainer for both softskills and product. I've been doing this job for 3yrs now. I got an offern in KL as a sales coach and offered me 4.5k in RM. Since the tax for non-resident is 25%, I searched online and found out that it will be 3.3k RM after taxed. Do you think its enough to live comfortability and probably save a little? Is the offer right? How can I negotiate?

Rm3.3k is very hard to live at KL. What about rental, food and travelling expenses? Is it paid by the company?
