American moving to Malaysia: African Wife

Hi!

I (USA) am considering moving to Malaysia with an African (Kenyan) wife. Should I anticipate any problems or challenges?

I have a job, but she would be looking for one in Malaysia. She is university educated and speaks English.

Malaysia is a multicultural society per se; you and your wife should’t have any problems. Mostly I see the difficulties the other way around. The people of Malaysia are very flexible and extremely tolerant. Many times I noticed the expats make themselves their own lives more difficult than necessary by expecting that everything should work the same way as in their home country. It just doesn’t and why should they change their lifestyle to the “better” expat-style one.
