I would like to buy or built a boat in Malaysia, live on it most of the time and explore the coastline and islands.

Can I do that ?

In Philippines, as a foreigner, I cannot sail a boat bought here if I don't hire a captain and a mechanic.

I understand the logic of creating jobs but so much for the intimacy.

I have found the answer. There is no problem in Malaysia. Its about the same rules than the ones we encounter in North America or Europe.
