where to live and find a long term rental

we are looking to move to either Guadalajara or Chalapa in June for a year. I am interested in finding work with a multi national in Guadalajara.

Is it possible to commute from Chalapa to Guadalajara or should we look for a place in Guadalajara.

Where should we live in Guadalajara?

Can you recommend agents to contact to find a one year furnished rental?

We also need to find a good Spanish school for our kids (7 & 9).

Thanks

MM

You would soon tire of the commute between Chapala and Guadalajara, an hour each way. As such, you might prefer to live in the city; and Guadalajara has some very nice residential areas.
Looking for work will be your biggest problem for several reasons:
You, and your family members must have an FM3 or FM2 Visa and must prove foreign income to get one. Then, you must find an employer to hire you and support/participate in obtaining working permission from the federal government (Immigration). That is not guaranteed and is often very difficult in Jalisco.
Agents aren't used as often in Mexico as in the USA and you should look to media advertising to find rentals.
Perhaps others, with children, can advise you regarding schools.
