I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I'm wondering what I need to do in Mexico to continue my career. Do I need a license, does mine transfer... etc????
Thank you :)

I'm afraid that Mexico protects its own workers and that the immigration system is designed to keep out foreign competition. As such, you may not work in Mexico without the specific permission of the Immigration authorities (INM) added to your visa. Yes, you will need a residence visa to remain in Mexico and, for that, you must prove sufficient income from outside of Mexico; about $1200 USD per month. You may visit Mexico on a tourist permit (FMM) for up to 180 days, non-renewable in Mexico. You just can't come here and work. Mexico has lots of people in your field and schools for that purpose, as everywhere else.
