Please name some towns(cities) in Mexico that offer a good climate and reasonable living expenses. Thank you. Jane Rush (devedarush@yahoo.com)

Everyone has their idea of the best blend of weather, amenities (includes enough gringos to have as many or as few English friends as you want), and affordable prices.

Safety goes almost without saying. If a place doesn't have basic safety, then the rest fall by the wayside.

That being said, I've been very happy at Lake Chapala for over 10 years. More at www.ChapalaClub.com.

Economical & safe...
Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala
Apizaco, Tlaxcala,
Tlaxco, Tlaxcala,
Huamantla, Tlaxcala.
.............................................
Puebla, Puebla,
Atlixco, Puebla,
Cholula, Puebla.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Xico, Veracruz,
Cordoba, Veracruz
.........................................
These are all Central Highlands but the beaches are within a 4 to 6 hour drive...
You could live near the Beach but prices will go up for utilities , etc.

Depends on what you mean is reasonable.....We live in Chetumal and are planning on moving to Belize because the cost of living here is going up and up. It is not that we can't afford it. We just want to be able to do other things too. We are living on our Social Security alone.

Agree with the other posters, depends on desired activities. Living on the coastline like we do is more expensive, but still dramatically less than coastline living in US. Living inland has many advantages as well. I would suggest you explore the Yucatan/Q Roo area..fast growing ex-pat community. Merida is a beautiful city and all amenities you can think of. We live on the island of Cozumel and it is paradise...Feel safe in Yucatan/Q Roo areas..coming from Chicago..this is a piece of cake..hope that helps.

Cozumeldeb, we just returned from Cozumel after spending a week looking around. We are returning in the spring to retire there. I would like us to keep in touch if you do not mind. My email is yvonnehowland@hotmail.com. My husband is retiring soon and I already have. Can we communicate thru email? Please let me know. We have questions for someone that is experiencing it now. Thank you!
Yvonne and Michael
