So many details we don't know:
What are the electrical outlet needs?
Someone mentioned earlier to bring high quality surge protectors, so that got me wondering.
Do we need foreign adapters?

Depends on where you're coming from. U.S., Canada and Mexico and much of Latin America all use the same 110 volt outlets.. If coming from UK, Europe, Asia or elsewhere, you probably need adapters or perhaps new alliances in some cases.

the only adapter you may need is 3 prog to 2 prong. Older houses may be 2 prong
The best "high quality surge protectors" is a UPS with true isolation. $100+ US mas or menos

Thirteen years in Chapala and never used any of those items & never lost an appliance or computer. However, a neighbor did, but all of his appliances came from the USA. Most of ours were bought in Mexico. The power supplies inside those Mexican appliances are more able to withstand surges, which do happen.

http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gadgets/home/surge-protector1.htm
"A standard surge protector passes the electrical current along from the outlet to a number of electrical and electronic devices plugged into the power strip. If the voltage from the outlet surges or spikes -- rises above the accepted level -- the surge protector diverts the extra electricity into the outlet's grounding wire.
In the most common type of surge protector, a component called a metal oxide varistor, or MOV, diverts the extra voltage. As you can see in the diagram below, an MOV forms a connection between the hot power line and the grounding line."
Older places usually have 2 conductor wiring - no ground wire, so only with 3 conductor wiring will it be useful to have a surge protector.

For desktop computers, consider an uninterruptible power supply, because even though a very brief loss of power may mean a loss of your work. It's also nice that your work will not be interrupted, and also that you'll have time for an orderly shutdown in the event of a prolonged power failure or brown-out.
