I just read that Mexican citizens are now protesting Trump. The article said they are not protesting Americans, just Trump. The triggering event was the new roundup of undocumented citizens.
Previously, only those with criminal records were deported. NOW, any whom they come across in the process of apprehending the criminal are also deported - even though there were no criminal offenses committed in the US.
I was wondering if any know of expats also joining in on the protests?
Solidarity.

For those of us currently in the USA, my Hispanic friends tell me Whatsup gossip is promoting a "day without immigrants" for Thursday the 16th. If successfully executed like a police "blue flu," it could be an eye opening experience for many who don't understand how intertwined US and international cultures are.

Check out Rosa Maria Ortega, 8 years for fraudulent voting by Texas jury. Came here as baby, claimed thought she could vote. Regardless, sentence seems excessive. Mexican people already angry. Coping with poverty and corrupt, unresponsive government. What do you think is going to happen, hand holding and peaceful candel light marches?

I have no idea what to expect. Just relaying information. Your cynicism re: my post is unwarranted

Foreigners are strictly prohibited from participating or engaging in any political activity in Mexico. It is a deportable offense. That said; there have been some expat marches right after “agent orange“ was sworn in. Mexican police observed, but did not act; probably as the protests were not directed at any Mexican agency or activity. However; it is best to keep a low profile and avoid anything that could be construed as “political action“.
