I asked a simple question.

I asked a simple question.

Have you experienced an increase in the hostility towards Americans?

My thanks to all of you who replied to my question. It appears that if you are a long term Mexican expat. There are no visible changes. If you are a little newer there has been an increase.

In my experience this forum is wildly biased in favor of the host country. Not just Mexico. I have posted in Mexico, Thailand and Ecuador. In Ecuador if you post anything that can be interpreted as slightly negative about the host country you get will death threats, ok that is a slight exaggeration but not much. To honest Mexico is not far behind. The police still suck in Ecuador and not that helpful in Mexico.

The gringo tax is wrong.

Get real, every county has stuff that sucks. Why do you think there is an entire section devoted to culture shock, it is very real?

I also said. I do not want your political opinions on Trump or anybody else.

There is disease for which there is no cure. There are no support groups and no research is being done on it.

It seems to be related the human strain of the well know cattle disease. Hoof and mouth disease. There is a vaccine for the cattle strain. Sadly, there is no vaccine for the human strain.

What you did not know there a human strain of hoof and mouth disease. I am sure you know several people who suffer from it. Every time they open their mouth they stick their foot in it.

I am speaking of hoof and mouth strain mutation 7.

Thirty percent of all Americans suffer from it. The infection rate is constant worldwide, except for France. In France, the infection rate is 72 percent.

It seems to be a viral infection that settles between the jaw the ear. The dominate symptom of hoof and mouth strain mutation 7, is when the victims are speaking they become completely deaf. Or as my grandfather use to tell me. “You cannot learn a god damn thing with your mouth open boy”

I am reposting just to see who I piss off. I also going to put this on the original post until I can figure out how to cancel.

When you pose a question to a forum you are not afforded the right to set the parameters of the discussion with an iron hand. People will comment as they feel they wish to. You can't stop that nor can you be annoyed when they do veer from the initial query. Hopefully the information developed is helpful and informative to lots of people. That's the whole idea. And please proof-read your own responses so they make sense and sound less like a rant as well.

Rambler341, nice post. You are 100% correct about the Ecuador posters.....They are are the most violent(with words) and postings in general, that I have ever found. I have lived in Cuenca, Ec. for about two(2) years now...and frankly the cold/rainy/misty weather is just not me...as I lived in S. Florida for some years & like 80 degrees in January. Plus, to me Cuenca shopping is "Walmart" quality, with very few upscale shops & dining is rather bland. So I am moving in May to a warmer Latin American country. Some posts take on a "life of their own" so to speak. Information, Information, Information...as I see it, is the purpose of these expat sites. Civil posts accomplish more than just ranting...always.

I agree 100% with your post about the Ecuador Posters. They are the most word-violent posters ever. It's almost like most have a "chip on their shoulder" or some cause they want to champion, online. Information is what these sites are about, sim[ply put.

Concerning anti-gringo actions.....last week as exited the Mall del Rio in Cuenca, Ec. two taxistas passed by my waving arm and picked-up an Ecuadorian family...finally a taxista that I know, Andres...picked me up. Cuenca, Ec. has a good-sized gringo population...and of course...just like in Panama & Costa Rica, general prices have risen for everyone. There is not any anti-gringo sentiments because of political happenings in the US...none of that at all. Just wanted to add that to my posts. I posted twice buy
mistake, as I received an error message from the forum or moderator.
