I'm sure this subject has been talked about already, but I am a newbie and need help. I am in need of major dental work and fairly quickly. I will need dentures with quality materials. I always read how great health care is great here and there, but can anybody recommend who they use and feel comfortable they are capable of this kind of treatment? I am looking for a dentist in The Lake Chapala, Ajijic area. We would also like to tour the area to see if we would like to live there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I suggest you try Dental Express, located on the west side of Ajijic on the main road.

Dental Express - Dr. Edgar Macias

(331) 121-6518

These prices are a year or two old, and there may have been some change in them. They also now have the most high tech alternative to traditional porcelain crowns. This system carves them out of piece of zirconia using CAD/CAM and laser scanning technology. (That's my description. I'm sure they can supply another one.)

Dental Express is now big enough and busy enough that they have a specialist on staff for each type of more serious procedure.

Cleaning: 150 pesos
Extraction: 360 pesos
Composite Fillining: 390 pesos
Porcelain Crown: 1,990 pesos
