Is it possible to have prescription medications shipped to Mexico? Example: Pharmacy sends medications to my U.S. address and friend ships them on to me in Mexico.

They are not likely to arrive, as shipping them to Mexico is technically prohibited. Some make it, but Customs catches most of them. You could bring in your own, for the length of your tourist visit, but beyond that, you should be prepared to buy locally. Farmacias do not require prescriptions, except for narcotics and antibiotics.
You will find everything you need is available in Mexico.
