Merida realtor recommendation

New Topic Newest First

Hi there!

My husband and I are wanting to purchase a home in Merida to use as a vacation home (and potentially rent out, if possible) for the time being, and to eventually retire to.

I wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a realtor in Merida who they have used and liked.

Gracias!

Caitlin

Ownership in a fidieocomiso generally had restrictions on commercial use or rental of residential property held in trust for you. Also, to do any lucrative activity in Mexico entails a residence visa with permission of Immigration to work, registration with SAT, having a CURP, RFC tax numbers, and probably an accountant, etc.
It can be more trouble than it is worth and the taxes for furnished rentals are sky high. Often, agents cannot be trusted & may rent the property without telling you; pocketing the money.
Rent when you visit; buy if you decide you really want to live there forever. Vacation “tourist traps“ are often not the best places to live in retirement.
