Hi
Can anyone help with buying furniture in Tangier rather than us having to buy the furniture packs that the developers try to sell you?
We need to completely furnish a 2 bedroon apartment, including white goods, and would welcome any advice about where to go and and prices etc. We will be in Tangier for 2 weeks in September and wonder if this is enough time to do it all.

Hi,
I live in Tangier and can help you if you wish. Im not sure what type of furniture you want but most Moroccans reccommend http://www.kitea.ma/
http://www.mobilia.ma/
These are the most economical shops and I have bought desks and bookshelves from Kitea. Kitea often have things on special but both are similar and you can buy modern furniture at reasonable prices and quickly, delivery is i think included in the cost.
There are many furniture shops in Tangier, some quite expensive i think but others reasonable. One can also have Moroccan sofas made to measure ie traditional style.
If i am in Tangier in September I could meet you for coffee and show you Kitea and Mobilia but I am not sure of my plans as I am stuck in London trying to work out cheap way of moving goods to my flat in Tangier plus some other hassles. please contact me if you wish asgoodasnew@hotmail.com martin

Hi Martkir
Thanks very much for all the info, very helpful. Basically, we need everything to furnish a 2 bedroom apartment ready for rental. We can bring a few little bits out with us but obviously the big things will have to be bought in Tangier.
We don't have exact dates yet as we have to wait for an appointment with the notary but it will be some time in September hopefully. We will be there for 2 weeks - do you think that will be long enough to buy everything and get it all delivered and installed etc?
Hope you can work out your situation here and get back to Tangier ok.
Thanks again.

I know it's 10 years later. But did you find something that you like? If you do, whereabouts?
Thank you,

Hi Abram,
If you are looking for a 'one stop shop', which is reasonably priced, I should make your way down to IKEA at Casablanca- you can look at their catalogue online. The only problem is that they are not set up to deliver to anywhere outside of the greater Casablanca area, so although you can buy & take away goods that day, you will have to have brought your own transport with you! IKEA is, of course, a worldwide business, however, so-apart from their employees in Casa, you will not be adding any money into the Moroccan economy- nor will you find very much which is redolent of the country- but for convenience, choice & price/quality ratio, with ready stock, it just cannot be beaten here.
