Accessing my dead husband's bank account

My husband ( English, as I am ) died in April this year, leaving money in a Foriegner's Bank Account,in Meknes. He did not leave a Will and I do not have Power of Attorney over his financial affairs. I do not know how to gain access to his bank account to withdraw money. Have you or anyone you know been in this situation ?Can anyone help or advise me?

I have been in touch with the British Consul in Rabat who cannot help other than to email me a list of Solicitors . I have contacted one of the solicitors on the list - an English speaking solicitor in Tanger. However, her English is not very good ( not good enough I feel to discuss important legal matters ) and, so far, she has not been very helpful. I sent her a list of questions one month ago and have not , as yet, received a reply even though I have sent her reminders that I am still waiting to hear from her and have, indeed, spoken to her on the telephone to remind her !I have also tried emailing other 'English speaking' solicitors in Tanger to ask for their help and have not received a reply.

I am frustrated and anxious. Can anyone help me ?

Hi,

Unfortunately, I would not be able to visit you in person in Agadir, so would you be able to give me advice on line ? If so, that would be greatly appreciated What is your name. Have you dealt with this sort of problem before. So far, I have been told that I will have to provide my late husband's death certificate and our marriage certificate. Both of these documents will need to be legally translated into Arabic and an application will have to be made to the courts for permission to access my late husband's bank account. Is that correct ?

Hi, I know an English person who would help you , his name is Leyton William, and he lives in Tangier, he is very well known to help all the expat with everything, and he works with the British Ambassy, in my opinion he's your only hope. before I give you his phone number let me know if you still needs his help.

Dear Tiffiben,

Thank you so much for your message. My husband died leaving me with many problems, his bank account in Meknes being just one of them ! So, if Leyton Williams could offer me any help or advice I would be so very grateful. If you could let me have his phone number ( if that is OK with him ) I would most certainly like to speak to him. At last I feel as if there might be light at the end of the tunnel - at last !. Once more, thank you very, very much.
