I will be renovating and building a small eco retreat probably in Taroudant or Essaouira countryside . About 250 square meters built. What are the going rates for building costs per meter and what are the costs to get water and electricity to the property from nearby approximately.

A small entrepreneur will typically charge about 6000 dhs a square meter of the construction.Water and electricity connection will depend on how far you are from the nearest connection.You can do the construction yourself for less than half the price if you run the project yourself but you will need to be totally hands on all the time.If you decide to use somebody to carry out the construction be very careful about handing over money in advance as the courts are full of people who have been swindled in this way.The price I referred to is if you are building in local stone and materials.Good luck and caveat emptor.
