Hi, as access to VoIP services such as Skype and Whatsapp have been blocked in Morocco, can someone advise me if using a VPN app to access VoIP services is legal in Morocco?
My fiancé who lives in Casablanca has heard it is illegal but I struggling to find any solid proof of this. As we have been using a VPN to Skype we don't want to get into trouble with the authorities and would stop doing this if the situation was clarified.
Any information would be appreciated.

Obviously you have some doubts about the information your fiance has given you and unfortunately they are well founded. There are no restrictions on Voip services and it's hard to find a Moroccan who doesn't use Whatsapp or Skype several times a week if not daily. Why he should tell you this misinformation is up to yourself to divine.

I hesitate to contradict Kwelbi and it may be the case that Whatsapp is still working within Morocco, but my experience in the past few days is that it is blocked for phone calls now from the UK & I have been told this is due to Maroc Telecom. The message that I have received in the UK when trying to call would confirm this. Texts appear to be still possible. You don't mention it, but I am not sure if Facetime is working or not.
