" Hi, I live in Medolla (about 30 minutes from Bologna). My suggestion would be to first decide whether you want to live in the ""city center"" or the outlying area. Both have advantages and disadvantages. The next step would be to carefully define what type of apartment you are interested in. There is a wide range of rental fees in Bologna depending on what section of the city you choose and what type of apartment you are looking for. ""Foresteria"" apartments are the most expensive. These are usually reserved for non-residents and can range in price from a starting price of 1,000,000 lire/month (furnished but of (usually) a pretty poor quality) to about 5-6,000,000 lire. I would suggest that you first set your price range, and then contact a real estate agency. If you will be working for a large corporation, I would ask them to help you locate an apartment. If you need some specific advice I can probably give you a hand. You can find much nicer apartments/housing (at more economical prices) in the peripheral areas. You can reach Bologna quite easily by train (at least during 6-9:00 PM) or by car. Good Luck Mary Lou wratten@tiscalinet.it "
