Are the following countries affordable, safe for the most part, hot or cold weather? Panama, El Salvador, Belize, Nicaragua, Ecuador.
I read that Ecuador is actually cold & has 4 seasons. But is one of the cheapest & safest countries. I read a lot of good things about Panama but an expat said it rains a lot.

It would depend on your definition of affordable,El Salvador and Nicaragua would be the cheapest, Panama a bit more with Belize the most expensive.
I have no first hand experience with Ecuador but believe from what I have heard it would be similar to Panama.
All are safe for expats and tourists however that may change in Belize, wouldn't want to buy property there at this time.
All countries have different temperatures depending on elevation, hot year round on the beaches cooler the higher one goes.

Belize is tropical and gets hammered frequently by hurricanes. Panama is expensive and it rains 9 months of the year. El Salvador and Nicaragua have very high crime rates and are very corrupt. Ecuador has two seasons; wet and dry, depending on where you live the temperature can get as low as 40ºF and as high as 85ºf

Hi, I recommend you to go to the Equador. You will find it a natural country with a way of life nearly normal, between the weather and people. Enjoy it

A comprehensive list, there's a couple catagories that I disagree with, health and safety and have left comments on your blog with my views.
However on the whole a valuable guide for those considering overseas retirement.
