Hi everyone,

I?m from Dallas and I need gastric sleeve surgery as soon as possible (long story). The thing is, did u ever travel for medical purposes through any company? I?ve recently conatcted Placidway, a medical toursim company and they suggested me Mexico in terms of quality and money. That's to say, they offered a gastric sleeve package in Mexico at half of the price I would pay in US. Now what do you think?

I don't think this is the place to ask a question about something as important and potentially life threatening as gastric surgery.

What little I know: mom's wealthy, but frugal friend - mid 50's elegant petite Los Altos Hills California dual citizenship Germany-USA -- to save money had her facelift done in Mexico. Died on the oprating table. No recourse, just dead. No idea if a. company involved.

Heard fabulous reports about state of the art care, medical facility in Thailand from my globe-trotting friend in Reno NV - Dave Adkins JD - pennies on the dollari for USA. Care and perhaps better nursing care..

I'm going south of border for dental care but am doing the invasive (into bone and tissue portion of implant and a gum-cheek graft to strengthen one tooth's anchor. And replace a missing tooth from losing gold crown . Don't want sepsis in Mexico or beyond and want to be able to litigate for poor care as needed .

I have RN licenses in CA and NV. To the LVN: try New Zealand. Your. LVN will not compensate in any country as that of an RN. Try getting specialized as an LVN IN ACUTE CARE SETTING EXPERIENCE before travel and you may well get a great job with good pay in your specialty...psych, post-on, telemetry, etc (better medical centers don't use L VN's in the ICU.. forget postpartum/delivery; most countries don't treat childbirth as an illness,..nor did I: natural childbirth at 39 with a midwife on Oahu.
